Members of Mwingi Green Ambassadors are cognisant of the role played by nature as the primary anchor of all lives. The intrinsic empathy towards the environment manifests in sustained biodiversity restoration endeavours premised on planting and raising indigenous tree species suited to Mwingi’s semi-arid ecological conditions.

The entire undertaking aims to bring back the once thriving and lush woodlands depleted through decades of indiscriminate clearance to pave way for farmlands and the retrogressive charcoal enterprise.

Soil health is maintained through interventions addressing erosion — construction of gabions across gullies, planting grass on bare land and tree growing.
